My All-Time Favorite Novels:

Yes, my absolute favorite novel is Persuasion. Jane Austen really knew how to create romantic tension in her novels. And Persuasion is simply the best. But to be fair, I love all of Jane's books and have read them many, many times. They're like old, trusted friends I can turn to when I'm feeling a little down, or just in need of some good old-fashioned romance. My runner-ups for favorite are Pride and Prejudice and Northanger Abbey.
Number two on my list of favorite books is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Another queen of creating romantic tension, Charlotte wrote some of the most breathtaking passages I've ever read. One of my favorite lines is found at the end of Chapter 26:
"Self-abandoned, relaxed and effortless, I seemed to have laid me down in the dried-up bed of a great river; I heard a flood loosened in remote mountains, I felt the torrent come; to rise I had no will, to flee I had no strength.
From here on, I'll list my favorite books according to genre...
